Renewable Raw Materials

Colours and nature in harmony - this is what the other resource-saving product solutions from the CapaGreen range stand for, in addition to Indeko-plus. Right from the start, the concept does not rely on niche products, but on top performers in the range: whether PlantaGeo, Holz-öl Aqua, PU-Alkyd Aqua or UniversalLasur Aqua. Our products offer premium quality without compromising performance and workmanship. We attach great importance to a responsible raw materials policy: We select our raw materials carefully and increasingly rely on renewable raw materials - from potato starch to camelina and soybean oil to biogas and bio-naphtha.
This saves us CO2.

Indeko-plus: 62% CO₂ savings in the binder

What one cannot do, many can. The more customers that choose Indeko-plus, the more environmental resources are sustainably conserved.

For example, Caparol uses 100% renewable raw materials in the binding agent for the production of Indeko-plus: biogas and bio naphtha. These are obtained from certified biomass and completely replace the precious fossil raw materials. In concrete terms, this means: The binder contained in Indeko-plus saves up to 62% CO2 compared to a conventional binder (biomass balance method). The manufacturing process is certified by the REDcert ² system.

RedCert2 certificate for download

By using renewable raw materials in the binder, Indeko-plus saves up to 62% CO2 compared to a conventional binder. The manufacturing process is certified by the REDcert2 system. The certificate is available for download here.

The CapaGreen biomass balance method:

In addition to the direct use of renewable raw materials in the manufacturing process, at Indeko-plus we use the biomass balance method. It allows us to use biomass instead of fossil resources right at the beginning of the value chain as a raw material for binding agents. This biomass is then assigned quantitatively to the interior colour. The mass balance is balanced.

When manufacturing the binder, the raw materials required are 100% replaced by renewable raw materials. The manufacturing process is certified by the REDcert2 system.

Whoever buys Indeko-plus actively ensures that the corresponding quantities of fossil raw materials are exchanged for renewable ones.

Sustainability awards: setting a good example

A number of awards that we have recently received also testify to the high sustainability standards. In 2021, for example, our company was named the winner of the Responsible Care Prize of the VCI Hessen for the third time. Caparol is also a founding member of the German Sustainable Building Council. V. (DGNB). This was founded in 2007 by initiators from the construction and real estate industry with the aim of promoting sustainable building even more. Sustainability data sheets for Caparol products and numerous certificates round off our claim to safe and sustainable products.
