Sustainable without compromise: Our packaging

At Caparol, we are not only committed to the development of environmentally friendly product solutions, but also focus on sustainable packaging. We have set ourselves the goal of reducing the proportion of plastic in our containers to a minimum and at the same time promoting the use of recycled material in the form of recyclates. On the one hand, this ensures less waste, at the same time it leads to better cycles and savings in CO2 emissions and oil.

We call it #RETHINKWITHCAPAROL

Containers made from recycled plastic: plastic waste recycled

When it comes to plastic recycling, the two terms post-industrial recyclate (PIR) and post-consumer recyclate (PCR) are often used - but without a generally applicable definition. Only the term recyclate is defined: ISO 15270 describes it as “plastic material from the recycling of plastic waste”.

Post-industrial recycling recycles plastic waste that arises from the industrial processing of virgin plastic. The excess material is collected, mixed with other new plastic and used for the next production step. The exact opposite is the case with post-consumer recycling: Here, packaging waste is processed that has been used by the end consumer and then, for example, enters the recycling loop via the yellow sack. Disposable and reusable bottles made of PET, which are handed over to deposit machines, also fall into the area of post-consumer recycling.

Containers made of tinplate: For a resource-saving circular economy.

In addition to containers made from recycled plastic, we also use cans made from tinplate in the CapaGreen range. This is a metal container with a particularly high recycling rate.

High robustness and stability of the containers

The performance of our packaging is just as important as the environmental aspect. With the CapaGreen containers, we offer packaging solutions made from recycled material that are in no way inferior to the properties of a conventional container. They combine robustness and dimensional stability, which ensures that the products reach our customers safely and undamaged.
